I have wanted to make this cake since last Easter. I couldn't make it last year because I had no idea how to use fondant so I made a very sad looking Easter egg instead.
This little chick is for a children's Easter party.
I might add some little eggs in the grass. I just didn't have any on hand today as they are all on location for the Easter cupcake workshop in the morning.

More Cake Pops
I am officially hooked on making cake pops. They seem to take forever to make but they are just so cute when they are done.
Here are some more Easter ones for the kids at daycare.

Paintball
This cake was super fun to make. At first I was a little stressed about it as the orginal cake was to be an xbox 360 then at the last minute they asked for paintball instead. I didn't have any time to plan or research a paintball field so I decided so this is the first thing that came to my mind.
Everything is buttercream, with fondant rocks, tires and walls. The 'dirt' is chocolate icing with Oreo cookie crumbs.

Cake idea for April fools day.
Want a fun little trick for your kids on April Fool's day? These are so easy to make and your kids will love them.
Buy a pound cake from the frozen dessert section of the grocery store. Cut it into slices, put it in the oven for about a minute under broil to give it a toasty look. Be careful this happens very fast. Let them cool, and cut them diagonally. Using about a 1/4 tub of icing or your own home made icing dye it with a little red and several drops of food colouring until you get a nice orange colour for cheese. If you put a nice amount on one side of your sandwich and put the top piece of toast on top pushing down lightly you will get the icing to come out of the edges making it look like melted cheese.
Give them a try and let me know how you made out.

Easter Egg Cake Pops
I can't stop making these fun cake pops. Be sure to check out the post below this to see more cake pops and see what a cake pops is.
Fun with cake pops
, So what is a cake pop you ask.......a little piece of heaven! I came across the world of cake pops on Bakerella and had to try them out. They are made from cake crumbled up then mixed with icing which you then form into balls (or what ever shape you need), as if that doesn't sound yummy as it is, you then dip them in chocolate!! Trust me, they taste amazing.
These are some fun little chick pops for Easter.
Here are some great spring flowers. I love the colours of these. The cake pop is the base under the flower, so you get an added bonus of candy with these ones :)
I will also be making this for Mother's Day so let me know if you are interested in ordering yours as I need to get some of the supplies while Easter items are still out.

These little guys didn't turn out as cute as I had hoped but I wanted to post them for you anyways. My kids love the show In the night garden. These are two of the characters from the show.

Cars Cake
Nothing like a cake with race cars to please the eyes of a 4 year old. This is a fun cake for a little guy at my children's daycare. The trick will be getting it to the daycare without my son trying to take the cars first.

Red, White and Gold
Who doesn't love red roses? I must say I can go awhile without seeing another rose for a few weeks after staying up until 2am making 2.5 dozen of them.
This cake turned into a challenge on many levels. Several things did not go as planned and had to change design plans half way through to make it work. I am happy with the final outcome and hopefully the customer will be as well.
