Elmo

I had so much fun making Cookie Monster a few weeks ago I thought I would put a smile on the kids faces at daycare Moday morning with some Elmo cupcakes.

My 3 year old son gets so sad when he can't help make cakes.  I give him extra cupcakes and icing when I can and he loves it.  The bottom picture is his version of Elmo - he is so proud of it and says none of the kids are daycare area allowed to eat his Elmo :)

A Game of Backyard Hockey

This was a fun cake to make.   The little guy is turning 7 and loves hockey.  So many of the hockey cakes done are team specific so this was a softer version of a hockey game for kids.   Hoping that he loves it and all is party goer's as well.

Barrel of Whiskey

This cake is for a 30th birthday party.  They don't know what to expect as a request of design was not given and I know this person loves Whiskey so this is what instantly came to mind.  It should be fun to see their reaction when I drop the cake off today.

It was very fun to make and smells so good!  I used chocolate fondant to cover the cake and the whole place smells like chocolate now....yumm.

Red Roses

Here is another style of the roses.   These ones are all red (you could do pink or white as well).  I love how these look as a centre piece on the table.

What kid doesn't love Cookie Monster?

I know I always liked Cookie Monster when I was a wee one, so I thought these would be super cute for the kids at daycare.

Most Dangerous Chocolate Cake

I received an e-mail with this 5 Minute Chocolate Mug Cake Recipe and thought I would share it with you.  It’s touted as ”The Most Dangerous Cake Recipe in the World” because it’s only 5 Minutes away and the ingredients are usually on hand — I guess one shouldn’t eat too many of these.  So beware!
1 Mug
4 Tablespoons Flour
4 Tablespoons Sugar
2 Tablespoons Cocoa
1 Egg
3 Tablespoons Milk
3 Tablespoons Canola or Vegetable Oil
1 Teaspoon of Vanilla

Combine the Flour, Sugar and Cocoa in a Mug – Add the Egg and mix thoroughly.  Pour in the Milk, Oil and Vanilla and mix well.  Place Mug in the Microwave and cook on maximum power (1000 watts) for 3 Minutes. Let Cake cool for a few minutes, then eat straight out of the Mug or empty onto a plate or into a bowl with Ice Cream.

The Cake will rise over the top of the Mug while cooking, but don’t be alarmed — It’ll be OK and it looks kinda funny.  The Cake is a little dense and dry and tastes best with Ice Cream, Powdered Sugar, Whipped Cream and/or a big glass of MILK.  Overall, it’s a fun, fast and warm Dessert that fills the air of Chocolate Cake within minutes.

Enjoy!
