Blue and white baby shower cupcake tower

This was a cupcake tower made for a baby shower today.   The customer wanted a small present cake for the Mom-to-be to take home with her after the shower and the cupcakes for the guests at the shower.

Workshop - Popcorn Anyone?

Who doesn't love popcorn?
Make this cake just in time to send with your kids for the end of year party at school. Or learn how to make it now for an upcoming movie themed birthday party, fun night in with the family or what ever event you can imagine.

You will be amazed at how easy this cake is to make once you learn the tricks of how to make my style of popcorn.

Workshops will be $20 per person. Everything to make this cake will be supplied. You just need to bring the cake of your choice to decorate. Cake options to bring are:
9 regular size cupcakes
24-35 mini cupcakes (I haven't used this option yet so don't have an exact number) *this would be a great option for the school parties*
8x8 square cake (torte and frost in the middle already - don't frost the top of the cake we will do that in the workshop)

Also bring with you a tupperware container that's approx 6-8 cups in size.

Workshop will be held in Barrie on Monday June 28, 2010 at either 10:00am or 7:30pm.  Each session will be approximately 2 hours in length.

Please sign up by Sunday June 20, 2010 and feel free to pass the workshop details onto your friends.

50th Birthday

This was a cake I was asked to make for a 50th birthday.    I was provided with a few pictures of the woman's house and dogs.  I only took the main features of the house trying to keep it simple and not take way from the dogs which were the main feature on the cake.  Therefore I left out all the greenery on the front of the fence so the dogs could still be seen.  We also added a 50 as the house number for her 50th birthday.

This cake was a learning experience in many ways, but it was fun to see it coming to life.

This is the photo I was given of the

Monkey Business

This was a fun cake to make for my nephew's first birthday.    My brother and sister in law call him a little monkey so we went with the monkey theme.

Little more butter with your popcorn?

I was asked to make another popcorn cake for a customer.   This family goes to the local hockey games every week and have a running joke with the popcorn at the games.   When she seen this cake, she knew it would be perfect for a family gathering.  This one has a little more 'butter' then the original one I did, which makes it look nicer.

A Mother's Day Cake

This is a cake I did for Mother's Day.  I love how simple but elegant it is.   Taller cakes like these are harder to cover, but I am trying to get over my fear of them...he-he

Dino

This cake was for a little guy turning 4.   He seen a larger version I had done last year and told his Mom that was the cake he wanted.   We scaled it down in size, using less dinosaurs and a smaller volcano.   His Mom put sparklers in the volcano which gave it a nice effect of the volcano erupting.

Cream coloured roses and a special cake for a young man

This was ordered to celebrate a variety of occasions.   Birthdays, Wedding Anniversary and a party with visiting family members from England.   The roses were a good match as it let guests pick away at the bouquet all evening.

It was also their son's birthday, figuring he wouldn't like a rose bouquet as a cake they asked if I could just do a blue cupcake or something for them.   During that conversation I inquired about his interests to try and make the cupcake a little nicer for him.  Apparently he is saving all his pennies to buy his own big screen TV.  So keeping it simple like they requested this is what I came up with for him.   It's a 5"cake, which would also make a cute smash cake size for 1st birthdays.

Well after being without my computer for a week now, I finally picked it up again this morning.   It was a mess to fix but it's back and most of my files were saved :)   I need to finish installing all the software again which is going to take some time.   Hopefully by early next week I will have that completed and be able to start posting pictures for you again.   I have a few cakes from last week and 4 this week to be posted.............stay tuned.
