A nice cold one.

I have been wanting to make a beer bucket cake for a long time now.    This is a small cake so I only used 2 bottles for this one.

Bottles, labels and ice is edible and placed on top of a delicious chocolate cake.

Tee Time

What a fitting cake for a retirement party.   Hopefully Don can get out and enjoy lots of tee times now without having the daily grind of work.

Golf bag is covered with chocolate fondant and textured to look like leather.

First Birthday

A little girl celebrated her first birthday this weekend.   Young kids just love the show In The Night Garden, so this was the perfect cake to celebrate such a large milestone.

Happy Birthday!

Silver Anniversary

Celebrating a silver wedding anniversary is a pretty big milestone.   I was thrilled to make this cake for this amazing couple as they celebrate 25 years of marriage today with their family.

Spaghetti Cake Decorating workshop

Since I have been on a food theme lately we are going to continue that for the month of September and make a cake that resembles a bowl of spaghetti with meatballs.      This is a fun cake to take with you to a pot luck dinner and see how many times it gets moved off the dessert table.    I have also made this cake for an Italian friend, and he was in awe when he seen it.

Workshops will be $25 per person. Once workshop payment is received you will be sent a supply list and instructions for baking your product at home. E-mail payments will be accepted at info@smashingcakedesigns.com or send an e-mail to us for other options.

You will receive the icing tip as part of your workshop fee so you can recreate this dessert again at home.

This workshop will be running on Thursday September 23rd in the morning from 10:00am - 12:00pm as well as an evening class from 7:30pm – 9:30pm, in Barrie.

Please sign up via e-mail by Monday September 20, 2010 and feel free to pass the workshop details onto your friends.

Horseshoe Tournament

This cake is for a customer that hosts an annual horseshoe tournament.   She thought it would be fun to surprise everyone with a custom cake this year.
The weather this weekend isn't looking the greatest so hopefully they don't get rained out and still can have their tournament.   If not they can all enjoy some cake indoors :)

Halloween Cake Pops

I made some sample Halloween Cake Pops the other day.    The kids love these things!

I am thinking this might be what we do this year for the October Workshop, so keep an eye out for details to come later.

Refreshing Treat

What's better then an ice cream sundae on a nice hot day?  While this one might not be as refreshing as the ice cream version, you still can't help but grab a spoon and enjoy.

It's never to early to starting thinking Christmas!

Okay so I can do without all the snow.  But I love Christmas decor and planning.

I was able to get some sample cupcakes done up the other day.   Be sure to place your orders early as Christmas tends to get busy!    These designs are $25 per dozen, if you are ordering larger amounts e-mail me for a quote as I can reduce the per dozen price slightly.  You can order 1 dozen of, the deer, snowflakes, trees or you can mix them up to get a variety pack.

Aren't they cute!

Nautical Cupcakes

This weekend I made 50 Nautical cupcakes for a Bridal Shower.   The colours where Red, White and Blue.   It was fun to do a large cupcake order for a change over a cake order.   Still a lot of work but, truly less stressful.

I received word from the lady who ordered them and some of the ladies that attended the shower.  Apparently the cupcakes were a huge hit and every last one of them was spoken for :)
